Meet the Designer - Jennifer Strumbel

Jennifer Strumbel

After initially attending Florida Atlantic University for a career in Software Engineering, Jennifer discovered that her creative juices needed a better outlet than software and changed her focus to Computer Science. In 1996, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she continued her studies at Hennepin Technical College and Bethel University. Needing more of a challenge, she struck out on her own, utilizing the concepts and ideas gained in school to further her education in web and graphic design with a more hands-on approach.

In 2003, she began her full-time web design career by opening River Street Designs, a small and independent design service that catered to small businesses and Work At Home Mom's (WAHM's). Her simple and affordable designs provided an opportunity for companies to build their web presence with a professional appearance at an affordable cost.

In 2007, after selling a successful online gourmet business, Jennifer decided to go with a new name and new look that better reflected her creative design focus. Flying Orange was born with an emphasis on creating custom and unique designs that catered to all businesses, organizations and individuals. She continues to advance her skills in graphic and web design learning new techniques through self-education including fully studying the latest in web techniques including XHTML and CSS design.

In her spare time, Jennifer keeps busy with her two children who are active in a variety of sports and activities. She is also active with her husband in various car clubs and organizations related to the automative industry. She has been a director for Minnesota Ford Enthusiasts since 2006 providing assistance with marketing, event planning and maintaining the club's website.
